Conducted in December 2009 in partnership with InfoTrends, following Economy Survey 1 in July 2009, FESPA's Economy Survey 2 tracks confidence and change in the market with specific reference to how external economic factors are affecting behaviour and trading in our community. |
Commenting on the survey outcome, Frazer Chesterman, Managing Director, FESPA said that this FESPA-commissioned research measures the economic confidence of the wide format printers and their suppliers. |
“It’s only one example of many FESPA initiatives aimed at supporting our members. As a not-for-profit organisation, all of the profits from FESPA exhibitions and conferences are re-invested for the good of the wide-format printing industry. Since Munich 2005, FESPA has ploughed over €1.5 million into our global community,” he said. |
According to FESPA official, this re-investment often takes the form of knowledge-sharing and the creation of central resources for screen, digital and textile printers. “In addition to FESPA’s regular Economy Surveys, we have also undertaken pan-European research into the digital wide-format printing marketplace; the Wide Survey (2007), and more recently the World Wide Survey (2009). |
FESPA cultivates relationships with leading industry specialist research bodies such as InfoTrends and Pira to deliver these research activities.” With our market rapidly changing and the supply chain tightly connected, forward visibility is a challenge for any print-related business. |
So, by blending data-led research with informal focus groups and opinion-former events, FESPA is able to bring the broadest mix of hard and soft market intelligence to its members, giving them unique insight to market trends and helping them plan more robustly for their businesses. |
