Following the completion of training for 6th batch of students on 30 June 2010, DMI team warmly welcomed the 7th batch on 2nd August 2010. Although DMI accommodates only 10 students per batch, the 7th batch comprises of 16 students.

During the recently concluded FESPA 2010 international competition in Munich, Germany, Indian Printers have won a fairly large number of Awards with 2 Gold, 6 Silver and 3 Bronze. Even the student entries from India in the Youth competition have won Silver and Bronze. The Michel Caza People’s Choice Award, a new award introduced for FESPA 2010, was received by AB Screens from Tiruppur, for its entry in the category Special Effects Printed on T-shirts and other garments (single/multi colour).

SPAI which will complete 30 years in August 2010, recently conducted a Seminar and presented an Educative Film on ADVANCED SCREEN PRINTING PROCESSES, specially for the Printers – Digital, Offset and Screen.

The wide format printing community’s outlook entering into 2010 is broadly optimistic, according to FESPA’s recent Economic Survey-2. More than one-fifth of respondents believe that the market was already recovering at the end of last year and more than half expect recovery to previous levels by the end of 2010.

Garment decoration is largely dominated by the screen printing process which offers unique flexibility, creativity and productivity for garment producers. In view of this, FESPA is gearing up itself for the forthcoming sub event - ‘FESPA Fabric’, a ‘show within FESPA 2010 mega show to be held from 22 – 26 June, Messe Munich, Germany. FESPA Fabric will focus exclusively on garment decoration.

FESPA organising an International Pavilion at FESPA 2010 in Munich. The idea for doing this is to enable member country supplier members, to be able to book all inclusive exhibition space at a very good rate and be amongst fellow FESPA members, at the International event.

Competitions have proved to be very important way to encourage creativity amongst students of Screen Printing. FESPA is holding FEPA 2010 Youth Competition to students from schools, colleges or training centres where screen printing is taught on a part time or full time basis. It is also available to those screen printing companies (members of SPAI) with a recognised training scheme, conducting continued screen printing courses, in the last one year.

FESPA 2010 will take place at the Messe Munich International Trade Fair, a state of the art facility providing exhibitors and visitors with a modern and inspiring environment to showcase new products and to discover new technologies in Digital, Fabric and Screen technology – 3 Amazing Shows – 1 Spectacular event.

Exactly a week from today, Tuesday, 8 Dec 09, all present at the Awards Gallery at Pragati Maidan Delhi at the FESPA INDIA 09 show, will see 27 of these contestants walk away with a rich haul of 66 Awards - 19 Gold, 17 Silver, 19 Bronze, 9 Commendation awards and 2 Special Judges Awards.
